A Soldier performs duties as a range safety during the 81st Readiness Division Mission Control Support Group's annual Vulcan Forge mission at Fort McClellan, April 11, 2024. In order to ensure range safety, safeties will check that weapons are clear, police weapon safety, and direct soldiers every move while on the range. The 81st RD MCSG and identified subordinate units conduct mandatory collective training and Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) yearly at Vulcan Forge to improve Soldier readiness and unit preparedness.
