YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 16, 2024) Families and friends of Sailors aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) bid the ship farewell, May 16. Ronald Reagan departed Yokosuka, Japan, for the last time as the U.S. Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
