After 33 years the National Alpini Rally returns to Vicenza. The Italian Alpini are mountain warfare Soldiers with a rich history in the Veneto Region. The province of Vicenza, within the Veneto region, is the most "alpine" province in Italy. This year the rally brought over 400,000 people from around the world to the three-day event. The parade, lasting over 12 hours, served as the formal conclusion to the weekend-long celebration. In attendance at the parade were senior political, military, civil and law enforcement officials.
