A U.S. Marine with Bravo Company, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, looks at his GPS device to track his fellow Marines after a free-fall jump during exercise Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 24 at Gotland, Sweden, June 7, 2024. Reconnaissance Marines conducted the free-fall jumps as part of their insertion, contingency, and exfiltration training, enabling them to operate in austere environments. BALTOPS 24 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. This annual joint, multinational maritime-focused exercise, executed by NATO forces to provide opportunities to strengthen combined response capabilities necessary to preserve Baltic regional stability.
