KLAIPĖDA, Lithuania (June 6, 2024) Vice Adm. Thomas Ishee, commander, U.S. 6th Fleet and Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO), greets Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Shelby Soto, assigned to the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21), during the ship’s participation in exercise Baltic Operations 2024 (BALTOPS24), June 6. BALTOPS24 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. The exercise, led by U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and executed by STRIKFORNATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
