A Wisconsin Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopter crew chief briefs physicians and nurses at Aurora BayCare on the injuries of a simulated patient as another Guard member assists with treatment during a mass casualty exercise May 31. The scenario called for a single Black Hawk crew to medically evacuate three victims critically injured by a building collapse to Aurora Medical Center-Summit. A Black Hawk can transport up to four litter-borne patients, as opposed to civilian air ambulances which carry only one patient. The training called for one patient to be transported from Summit to Green Bay for additional care. This training builds on prior collaboration between the Wisconsin Army National Guard and Aurora Health Care. Aurora Health Care photo
