Culinary Specialist Seaman Brandon Voss, Seaman Donavon Davis and Boatswains Mate 3rd Class Wesley Bivins work together to close up the starboard anchor-chain stopper of amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa, as it sets anchor in the Central Arabian Gulf. Tarawa is currently conducting operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. Maritime Security Operations help set the conditions for security in the maritime environment. From security, arises stability that results in global economic prosperity. MSO complements the counterterrorism and security efforts of regional nations and seek to disrupt use of the maritime environment by violent extremists as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
