240613-N-LY640-2121 BALTIC SEA (June 13, 2024) An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician jumps into the Baltic Sea from a MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21 while an EOD Technician directs him during helicopter cast and recovery and mine pouncer operations during exercise BALTOPS24, both are assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12. BALTOPS24 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. The exercise, led by U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and executed by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
