240613-N-LY640-2083 BALTIC SEA (June 13, 2024) Royal Netherlands Navy Cpl. Giovanni Pattiwael, attached to the Defence Diving Group of the Royal Netherlands Navy, climbs a ladder onto a MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21 during helicopter cast and recovery and mine pouncer operations during exercise BALTOPS24. BALTOPS24 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. The exercise, led by U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and executed by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
