U.S. Army Soldiers of the 996 Medical Company Area Support (MCAS) work together to treat a training casualty with a leg injury in the trauma tent during a mass casualty training exercise, June 8, 2024, at Fort Hunter Liggett, CA.
During the exercise, Soldiers of the 996 MCAS treated a combination of “dummy” or doll patients and live patients with prosthetic injuries to simulate specific emergency situations in order to be evaluated and graded on their performance. Global Medic is a massive multi-national, multi-service, joint training exercise where the 996 MCAS was evaluated on providing medical care, receiving 25-30 patients that they have to assess and then transfer to a hospital for further care.
