Maurice Barnett, outgoing 10th AAMDC commander, was presented with a shell of the last round as a memento of the change of command ceremony, June 20, 2024 at Sembach Kaserne, Germany. The command's lineage dates from July 1, 1942 when it was first constitutes as the 10th Coast Artillery (Harbor Defense) at Fort Adams, Rhode Island.
