    A U.S. Air Force C-5A Galaxy rests partially disassembled on the eastern side of the flight line at Travis Air Force Base, California, June 10, 2024. The first operational C-5A was delivered to the 437th Airlift Wing, Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina, in June 1970. Only portions intended for reuse will be removed, while remaining portions of hulk will remain at Travis AFB for government disposition and disposal.
