CAM RANH INTERNATIONAL PORT, Vietnam (July 11, 2024) - U.S. Coast Guard Cmdr. Yvonna Yang, the Pacific Area strategic engagements section chief, gives a brief during the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in the Maritime Defense subject matter expert exchange aboard the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) during a scheduled port visit in Cam Ranh, Vietnam, July 11, 2024. U.S. Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and members from the Vietnam People’s Navy, Vietnam Coast Guard, and Vietnam Boarder Guard, came together to discuss the impact of WPS for Maritime Organizations. U.S. Coast Guard missions in the Indo-Pacific focus on issues directly supporting and advancing our regional partners’ efforts to protect fish stocks, ensure safety of life at sea, support environmental response, and provide disaster relief. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
