    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

U.S. Marine Cpl. Hector M. Arevalo, a tiltrotor mechanic with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts maintenance on a MV-22B Osprey aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Philippine Sea on July 29, 2024. The Air Combat Element Marines with the MEU conduct maintenance on aircraft after flight operations to maintain the high operational tempo and keep the MEU ready for any mission. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
