This image depicts World War II artifacts collected and preserved by the late U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Casimir Joseph Cichon. As a gesture of goodwill and a commitment to strengthening partnerships, his son, U.S. Air National Guard Lt. Col. Patrick Cichon, Commander of the 129th Medical Group, Emergency Medicine Physician, and Flight Surgeon, repatriated the artifacts to Japan. The artifacts were delivered to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, the Gunma Prefectural Museum of History, and the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum. (Image courtesy of the Cichon family.)
