The crew assigned to an M109A7 Paladin, with B Battery, 1st Battalion, 201st Field Artillery Regiment with the West Virginia Army National Guard raise the barrel of it’s howitzer weapon system into it’s firing elevation during a fire mission as part of a training exercise at Camp Grayling, in Grayling, Michigan on August 11, 2024 during Exercise Northern Strike 2024. Exercise Northern Strike is an Army sponsored, multi-component, multinational training event conducted twice a year at the Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center. Northern Strike focuses on offense, defense and stability operations, while simultaneously focusing on maintaining unit readiness alongside joint and partner forces in all-domains of warfare. Northern Strike is Michigan’s largest and longest standing joint readiness exercise, and this iteration hosts over 6,000 participants and is being held from August 3 to 17, 2024 at the National All Domain Warfighting Center.
