    NATO exercise highlights international operability

U.S. Army Spc. Isaiah Aleman, an infantryman assigned to Charlie “Wild Card” Company, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, scans for potential threats during exercise Paladin Strike at Camp Adazi Training Area, Latvia, Aug. 5, 2024. By utilizing local foliage, facepaint, and Operational Camouflage Pattern, Aleman remains undetected until the enemy is within firing range during the exercise, which focuses on enhancing interoperability among NATO partners. The 1st Cavalry Division’s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward-deployed corps in Europe.
