Aaron Lorenson, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) medical outreach doctor, speaks with a Lao citizen during a medical outreach event on a recovery mission in Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Aug. 13, 2024. U.S. military members saw 65 Lao citizens during the event where they provided the locals with needed medication and treated over 90 medical conditions. Since 1985, the United States and Lao governments have worked closely together to find and recover unaccounted-for American service members.
