    Command Chief Warrant Officer 5 Derek Fisbeck of the Wyoming Army National Guard presents retired Chief Warrant Officer 5 Doug Drost with the Legion of Merit during an award ceremony in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on Aug. 2, 2024. Drost served for 38 years, including deployments to support Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. He played a crucial role in Wyoming by ensuring the state passed multiple aviation resource management surveys, which maintained its ability to conduct vital search and rescue missions and fire suppression operations, safeguarding the lives and properties of countless citizens throughout his career.
