The HWW Marine Detachment, while under the command and control of Task Force 61/2, is conducting operations in U.S. Marine Forces Africa area of operations to support partner nations. Task Force 61/2 aligns deployed maritime forces under the Naval Amphibious Force commander; deployed amphibious ready groups, Marine Expeditionary Units, Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team Company, Europe, and reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance forces.
