U.S. Marines with the Hershel “Woody” Williams (HWW) Marine Detachment, and Sailors with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11, construct a boat storage facility in Accra, Ghana, in July, 2024. The HWW Marine Detachment, while under the command and control of Task Force 61/2, is conducting operations in U.S. Marine Forces Africa area of operations to support partner nations. Task Force 61/2 aligns deployed maritime forces under the Naval Amphibious Force commander; deployed amphibious ready groups, Marine Expeditionary Units, Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team Company, Europe, and reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance forces.
