Army Reserve Soldiers, assigned to 300th Chemical Company, 76 Operational Response Command, set up a non-ambulatory decontamination line (left) and an ambulatory decontamination line (right) during the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) exercise scenario at Morgantown Town Readiness Center, W. Va., August 8, 2024.
CBRN ambulatory and non-ambulatory lines are crucial in the decontamination processes. The ambulatory line is for individuals who can walk and perform self-decontamination. They follow a designated path, removing contaminated clothing and washing and rinsing. The non-ambulatory line is for patients who are unable to move independently, such as the injured or incapacitated, and receive assistance with decontamination.
