Master Sgt. Jeorg Jost, German Army Liaison Staff USA 2, discusses target hits with participants during the pistol qualification portion of the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (GAFPB) event on September 7, 2024, at the Regional Training Site in Center Strafford, N.H. The German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency or, in German, “Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst” is a decoration of the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany. Allied soldiers of any rank may also be awarded the badge. This is one of the few approved foreign awards and requires those seeking the badge to complete a swim test, fitness assessment, marksmanship qualification and foot march.
