U.S. Marine Corps Cpl Tyler Wax, a fixed-wing aircraft mechanic with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 312, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, fastens an intake cover onto an F/A-18C Hornet aircraft at Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan, Sept. 10, 2024. VMFA-312 arrived at MCAS Iwakuni as part of the Unit Deployment Program to augment MAG-12, 1st MAW. The UDP enables squadrons throughout the Marine Corps to exercise expeditionary capabilities while providing a forward presence in the Indo-Pacific. Wax is a native of Michigan.
