NAVAL BASE POINT LOMA (September 12, 2024) Cmdr. Alonso Mori, commanding officer of the Peruvian submarine BAP Pisagua (SS 33), center, and Pisagua’s crew are welcomed onboard Naval Base Point Loma as part of the Diesel Electric Submarine Initiative (DESI), Sept. 12, 2024. The DESI program was established in 2001 by U.S. Fleet Forces Command and partners the U.S. Navy with South American submarine-operating navies as they participate in fleet readiness exercises.
