Daniel Sharkey, an emergency management specialist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, engages with community members during the Army Expo Sept 15 at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, Pa. to showcase the Deployable Tactical Operations System, a multi-level national emergency response system strategically located within USACE Divisions to provide timely tactical support for emergency response operations. USACE, Baltimore, and Philadelphia Districts jointly engaged with thousands of attendees throughout the weekend-long event where discussions ranged from the Francis Scott Key Bridge emergency response efforts to water safety. According to the Army War College’s website, Army Expo '24 is a public program showcasing the U.S. Army's heritage, some of the Army's capabilities today, and the Army of the future.
