NORTHFIELD, Vermont (September 18, 2024) Vice Adm. John Gumbleton, commander, Task Force 80 and deputy commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), presents a command coin to midshipman Mateo Alvarez before delivering remarks to engineering and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students at Norwich University, during a New England Community Outreach event. Gumbleton, a 1989 Norwich University graduate, spoke with several university organizations during the visit to his alma mater. USFFC is responsible for manning, training, equipping, and providing combat-ready forces forward to numbered fleets and combatant commanders around the globe.
