240808-N-EV253-1130 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 21, 2024) - U.S. Naval Aviators, aircrew and maintenance personnel assigned to the "Merlins" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3, the "Seahawks" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 41 and the and the "SunHawks" of Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron (VRM) 50, pose for a photograph at Gillespie Air Center during the 10th annual Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) 2024 community relations event in El Cajon, California, Sept. 21. GIAD 2024 was a Women in Aviation International Event, which showcased women from across Naval Air Station North Island and their aircraft; the women represented various career fields, and attendees were able to interact with a static hands-on display of the aircraft. HSC-3 is the Navy's west coast MH-60S fleet replacement squadron, responsible for training pilots and aircrewmen by providing the most capable warfighters to the fleet.
