240927-N-SS900-1749 NAVAL BASE POINT LOMA (Sept. 27, 2024) Chief Fire Control Technician Kyle Boutwell, from Riverside, California, assigned Commander, Submarine Squadron (CSS) 11, receives his chief petty officer anchors during a combined chief petty officer pinning ceremony for CSS-11, USS Asheville (SSN 758), USS Santa Fe (SSN 763), and USS Scranton (SSN 756) held at the Roncador Memorial onboard Naval Base Point Loma, Sept. 27, 2024. CSS-11 is home to five Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarines, which are capable of supporting various missions, including: anti-submarine warfare; anti-ship warfare; strike warfare; and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
