From the September 22, 1967 edition of Service to the Fleet, USS Forrestal (CVA-59) arrives at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) and is moved to temporary berthing under the Hammerhead Crane with assistance from Navy tugs. The crane was used to remove starboard elevator before the ship was moved to Dry Dock 8.
