Firefighters with the South Jersey Transit Authority Fire Department, Station 24-1, climb up a ladder as part of a joint training exercise with members of the 177th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire and Emergency Services, Station 24-2, New Jersey Air National Guard, at the Atlantic County Fire Academy, located at the Anthony 'Tony' Canale Fire Training Center in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, Sept. 24, 2024. The live-fire training consisted of ventilating the structure of smoke, heat and toxic gasses, entering the structure through different means, isolation using various methods to prevent the spread of fire, searching the structure for victims, known as VEIS, followed by fire suppression.
