U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Fred Monday, the commanding officer of 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, gives remarks during an amphibious combat vehicle executive leaders’ course at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 9, 2024. The course was conducted to provide commanders with the opportunity to discuss the introduction of the ACV to III Marine Expeditionary Force, in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
