Shawn Apger, a mechanic with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, disconnects cables from diving headgear after an underwater inspection of the gates of the main chamber at Wilson Lock in Florence, Ala., October 9, 2024. When connected to dive helmets, the cables provide air, drinking water, and power to the diver; and enable the helmet-mounted cameras to send audiovisual information back to observers on the dive platform.
