U.S. Army Pfcs. Michael Grantham, of Pinon Hills, Calif., and Jacob Vanguilder, of Saginaw, Mich., both with 3rd platoon, Baker Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, examine a model-improvised explosive devices during the Counter IED Training Class Feb. 9 at Camp A in Phitsanulok province, Kingdom of Thailand, during exercise Cobra Gold 2013. The training will be used to teach the Royal Thai Army and the U.S. military effective techniques in identifying IEDs. Joint and multinational training is vital to maintaining the readiness and interoperability of all participating military forces. 9th INF REG is part of 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.
