Team members from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Task Force Water, meet with staff from the University of North Carolina Asheville Oct. 15, 2024, to perform a site assessment and determine potential options for providing the university with potable water for use on campus. Task Force Water is assessing current water conditions as well as identifying opportunities to leverage temporary water treatment systems to expedite delivery of potable water to residents and critical facilities, to include schools, hospitals, public safety facilities and elderly care locations in areas affected by Hurricane Helene.
