Team members from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Task Force Water, inspect a water flow rate meter at the University of North Carolina Asheville with campus operations and facilities management personnel Oct. 15, 2024, during a site assessment to determine potential options for providing the university with potable water for use on campus. Task Force Water is assessing current water conditions as well as identifying opportunities to leverage temporary water treatment systems to expedite delivery of potable water to residents and critical facilities, to include schools, hospitals, public safety facilities and elderly care locations in areas affected by Hurricane Helene.
