ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Oct. 7, 2024) Retired Capt. David Marquet, author of "Turn the Ship Around! A True Story of Turning Followers into Leaders", speaks to the Brigade of Midshipmen during the Forrestal Lecture at Alumni Hall, U.S. Naval Academy. Marquet shared leadership insights from his book, focusing on the importance of empowering others to become leaders. The Forrestal Lecture Series invites distinguished leaders to the Academy to inspire and educate midshipmen on leadership and professional development. As the undergraduate college for the U.S. Navy, the Naval Academy trains midshipmen to become professional officers with competence, character, and compassion to serve in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
