Naval Support Activity South Potomac (NSASP) conducted a force protection drill Feb. 20 as part of the Navy's annual Citadel Shield exercise. The training scenario was a challenging one: first responders had to deal with an active shooter, hostages and multiple casualties. Navy security personnel evacuate a wounded Sailor during the active shooter drill. The barricaded gunman is at the end of the hall; a tactical response team with ballistic shields placed themselves between the shooter and the wounded to provide cover.
