U.S. Army Sgt. Broderick DeArmas, Company B, 122nd Aviation Support Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, monitors airbags in the hangar at Pope Army Airfield for proper airlift, Jan. 13. Bravo Company worked alongside the 440th Maintenance Group (Air Force Reserve Command) during a two-day aircraft recovery training event. Airbags are used to lift and balance the aircraft during downed aircraft extraction. The large airbag is separated into four sections that can be configured into a structure to lift the aircraft if a wing is down or the aircraft is on its side.
