U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Jason B. Hibler, Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory Experiment Division Concept Development Team 1 lead, gives a safety brief to distinguished visitors before touring the Stern Landing Vessel, a modified oil-rig industry off-shore support vessel, Oct. 30, 2024 at Naha Military Port, Okinawa, Japan. The SLV, named the HOS Resolution, is a 267-foot converted offshore support vessel capable of providing 6,000 square feet of usable deck space that has been modified to beach and offload using a stern ramp. MCWL contracted the SLV to explore maneuver and sustainment options for Stand-In Forces to inform the development of the Medium Landing Ship. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Kevin Ray J. Salvador)
