U.S. Air Force Col. Mansour Elhihi, 125th Fighter Wing commander, briefs Victoria Yeager, wife of Retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Chuck Yeager, on the 125th FW mission at the Jacksonville Air National Guard Base Florida, Oct. 31, 2024. During her visit, Mrs. Yeager met with service members while she toured the Aircrew Flight Equipment unit, fire department, attended the welcome briefing hosted by Elhihi, and spoke to Department of Defense STARBASE students. The 125th FW mission is to provide air superiority and combat-ready forces to support national defense objectives and protect U.S. interests at home and abroad. Brig. Gen. Yeager was an Air Force flying ace and test pilot who made history in 1947 as the first person confirmed to break the sound barrier in level flight.
