Victoria Yeager, wife of U.S. Air Force Retired Brig. Gen. Chuck Yeager, engages in discussion with U.S. Air Force Col. Mansour Elhihi, 125th Fighter Wing commander, during her visit to the 125th FW at the Jacksonville Air National Guard Base, Florida, Oct. 31, 2024. During her visit, Mrs. Yeager met with service members while she toured the Aircrew Flight Equipment unit, fire department, attended the welcome briefing hosted by Elhihi, and spoke to Department of Defense STARBASE students. The 125th Fighter Wing supports federal and state missions, offering assistance during natural disasters and other emergencies as directed by the Governor. Brig. Gen. Yeager was an Air Force flying ace and test pilot who made history in 1947 as the first person confirmed to break the sound barrier in level flight.
