NAHA AIR BASE, Okinawa (Oct. 28, 2024) – U.S. Navy Sailors and Marines along with members of Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force work together during Airfield Damage Repair training exercises to learn more about the different equipment and standard operating procedures from both nations in order to become more familiar with how they can work together to restore runways during exercise Keen Sword 25, Oct. 28, 2024. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Forces personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the ironclad U.S.-Japan alliance.
