U.S. Army Capt. Daysha Wells, a field veterinary service officer in command of the Horse Cavalry Detachment, 1st Cavalry Division, and her stead “Krueger,” lead her team across the demonstration field at Fort Cavazos, Texas, Oct. 24, 2024. The Cavalry Detachment on Fort Cavazos is one of seven active cavalry units still active in the U.S. Army today. Demonstrations such as this help to bolster the preservation of U.S military history.
