Bret Dement, Engineering Technician, Mechanical Product Test Center (PTC), DLA Land and Maritime, takes the information from a 2-dimensional drawing and renders it into 3-dimensional space using computer software. Coordinate Measuring Machines can increase testing time and provide accurate and repeatable measurements. By keeping non-conforming parts out of the stock system DLA ensures the military services get the part they need and conforms to drawing specifications. The Mechanical Testing Center is one of DLA's three PTCs Product Test Centers providing professional scientific evaluations of products and related services, including product testing, technical support, and training for customers in a timely manner.
