U.S. Army Capt. Kyle Merritt from the New York District works from a remote station inside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) as it sits in a Lowes parking lot to collect Right of Entry (ROE) information from homeowners. USACE has been tasked by FEMA to assist eligible homeowners with temporary roof repairs through the Operation Blue Roof program. The program provides a temporary covering of blue plastic sheeting to help reduce further damage to property until permanent repairs can be made. The MCV provides mobile communications and operations workspace to support emergency response missions. Merritt is deployed to Florida as part of Operation Blue Roof in response to Hurricane Milton.
