NAVAL STATION NORFOLK (Nov. 7, 2024) Lt. Col. James Lindler, amphibious warfare staff planner assigned to Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 4, reads the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ birthday during a celebration of the United States Marine Corps 249th birthday at CSG-4's headquarters on Naval Station Norfolk. Lindler also spoke about his experiences in the Marine Corps - including Navy and Marine Corps integrated warfighting at sea and ashore - during a celebration of the United States Marine Corps 249th birthday at CSG-4's headquarters.. CSG-4 works with II Marine Expeditionary Force’s Expeditionary Operations Training Group during pre-deployment training for Amphibious Ready Group and Marine Expeditionary Unit integrated training events. Additionally, Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Atlantic - one of CSG-4’s subordinate commands – is a Marine Corps-led command that delivers world-class expeditionary warfare training focused on amphibious operations to ensure the Joint Force and Allies are ready to project military power from the sea. CSG-4 mentors, trains, and assesses carrier strike groups, amphibious ready groups, and independent deployers for global combat against peer competitors.
