Colleen Shine, the daughter U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Anthony C. Shine, recounts her when her father who was missing in action was finally brought home thanks to the efforts of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) during the National POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Sept. 20, 2024. National POW/MIA Recognition Day is held on the third Friday of September each year to honor the commitment and sacrifices made by this nation's prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action, as well as their families.
