The championship heat was contested between three well-built cardboard vessels: The USS FMS in the foreground, the USS Happens and Team Danger Zone. The USS FMS edged out Team Danger Zone for the win, with USS Happens coming in third at the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime’s Navy Regatta Oct. 9 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Eagle Eye Golf Course pond. Maritime Supplier Operations’ USS FMS, piloted by Caitlin Ferry and Michael Blaha, are repeat champions. Team Danger Zone, fielded by the DLA Land and Maritime Safety Office, was piloted by Bret Gould and Bill Palmatary. The USS Happens represented the Air Force with Air Force Col. Alex Constantine and Air Force Capt. Alex Gaboric at the helm. Ferry and Blaha are contract specialists, Gould is safety specialist, Palmatary is a management and program analyst, Constantine is DLA Land and Maritime’s chief of staff and Gaboric is an Air Force supply chain point of contact.
