U.S. Army Staff Sgt. James Wyatt Rutledge, an infantryman assigned to 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 7th Infantry Division, and a member of the Navajo tribe (Diné Nation), attends an annual powwow hosted in the Pacific Northwest by local tribes.
Rutledge made a personal commitment to carry on his tribe's cultural traditions with his own children. “I make sure they recognize who they are,” said Rutledge.
